7 Killer Sandwich Recipe Directory for #NationalSandwichMonth

The Monte Cristo Sandwich is a variation on the Croque Monsieur, which is a grilled French ham and cheese sandwich with gruyere cheese and béchamel sauce. But this baby is a step up when dredged in cream and egg and topped with jam. Think of it as the best ever French Toast made into a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.

The pulled pork sandwich starts with a slice of Abigail’s Oven Country or Rustic Loaf bread that is toasted and piled with slow-roasted pulled pork and topped with coleslaw

Serve it open-faced or sliced in two and placed one half on the other for a more traditional sandwich.

This Reuben is the best corned beef on rye sandwich recipe I know. It calls for our artisan Jewish Rye bread and homemade sauerkraut with mustard.

You can even take it to a new level by grilling it in a panini press.

The Cuban is a variation from a ham and cheese sandwich that probably originated in cafes serving Cuban immigrants in Florida, where it became popular. The sandwich is made with a combination of ham and roasted pork, and sometimes even with salami, but always with layers of Swiss cheese, mustard, pickles, on Cuban bread.

This Jalapeno and Cheddar Toasted Cheese is a twist on the traditional grilled cheese. It is made with tangy red pepper jelly and thinly sliced apples, topped with bacon. The jalapeño cheddar sourdough bread adds an amazing flavor that compliments the toppings and adds a nice kick.

The Kentucky Hot Brown is an open-face broiled sandwich layered with sliced turkey, Mornay sauce, bacon, and tomatoes on toast smothered in cheese.

The California Club is made on our Country Loaf with sautéed green and red peppers, sliced mushrooms, and thinly sliced red onions. Piled high with sliced avocado,  tender-crisp bacon, sliced turkey, and Provolone cheese layered between slices of sourdough bread. Each sandwich is grilled in butter.
