Have you ever tasted bread so good it’s almost magical? Martha Levie, co-founder and chief baker at Abigail’s Oven, strives to bring that experience to every table. Nestled in Spanish Fork, Utah, this family-owned bakery isn’t just about delicious bread; it’s a testament to tradition, love for good food, and a lot of sourdough starter!

A Family Legacy, Baked to Perfection

Abigail’s Oven isn’t just a bakery; it’s a family legacy. Their story began more than a decade ago when their eldest daughter, Abigail, a budding entrepreneur, loaded her little red wagon with freshly baked bread and set off to sell it door-to-door in their neighborhood. Little did they know that this simple act would spark a culinary journey, transforming their family and our community into sourdough enthusiasts.

Inspired by Abigail’s passion and early success, the family joined forces to turn her dream into a thriving family business. Today, Abigail’s Oven is a testament to the power of family, hard work, and the timeless appeal of great bread.

Martha explains:

“Our mission is simple: to bring the joy of delicious, nutritious Dutch oven sourdough bread to as many people as possible. Locally, our bread is available at health food stores throughout Utah and in our bakery. For those outside our area, we’re thrilled to offer nationwide shipping to all 50 states.

“But we’re not just about baking bread—we love sharing our knowledge, too! We offer sourdough classes both in-person and via Zoom, so you can learn how to bake wholesome, flavorful sourdough in the comfort of your own home.

“Join us in celebrating the art of sourdough, where every loaf is crafted with love and every bite brings joy and nourishment/”

REAL™ Sourdough, Real Results

Today, Abigail’s Oven turns out thousands of loaves of sourdough bread every week, each a testament to their unique “Real 7™” process. This trademarked approach goes beyond just ingredients. It uses real, heirloom wheat, pure water, and naturally occurring yeast from its sourdough starter. But it’s also about embracing heritage and the long fermentation process that unlocks a world of flavor and nutrition.
